Angela Howard gave birth to Dasanie Howard on June 6, 1978. Dasanie had a very high IQ. She was a child prodigy. Her mother was insistent that Dasanie have a normal childhood. Dasanie went to the Donnet School of Performing Arts. She was a very popular and sought after violin player. She auditioned for the Bolian School of Musicians, one of the most prestigious musical schools in the state. She was accepted into the school. She only attended for two years. She met Grace Terrelle while performing a recital. The two young ladies became friends. Grace told Dasanie that she was going to audition to be a member of a new group, The Shades. Dasanie went with her. Dasanie did not plan to audition, but Grace had signed Dasanie up without her knowledge. Dasanie had to audition. Dasanie did not have her instrument with her.
